Thank you to everyone who attended our Drop In event at Silsoe Village Hall on June 29th!

Jon Balaam from the Greensand Trust supported us with some information and exercises to gather detail to support our new Green Infrastructure Plan, which will -

  • Help shape the future of local communities, ensuring the environment is protected and enhanced
  • Identify projects that can be taken forward
  • Create a mechanism for designation of Local Green Spaces – giving a high level of protection
  • Provide valuable information (including maps), identify key environmental assets for protection and improvement, help guide sustainable development in the community

The information that you gave him, along with the information gathered from the Initial Survey will help create a GI PLan specific to Silsoe and it;'s natural environment.  You can find out more about the Greensand Trust by clicking here, however expect to see more of Jon over the coming months.

We had a great turn-out with people popping in as soon as we started at 2pm, right till the very end at 9pm, and it wasn't just the free drinks and biscuits that brought people in!  People were very interested to read the results of the village-wide survey that we conducted over the month of May.

We repeated this exhibition at the Silsoe Family Fun Day on Saturday 8th July, between 12noon and 5pm and members of the Silsoe Neighbourhhod Plan Steering Committee (SNPSC) were there to discuss the results and where we are in the process.

Thank you to all the repondents to our Initial Survey to residents 1st May to 2nd June 2017.  With over 300 responses, we were able to get a fair idea of what people wanted and what they liked about Silsoe.  Gathering these views is vital for us to inform our Neighbourhood Plan and we will be using these results to move us forward in creating our Neighbourhood Plan.

Take a look at the results here.
